The premise of this Heineken commercial, titled "Darren's Powers", is a league of bored superheroes are just sitting around their place of work. The leader of the group, in red, arrives and announces that a new member, Darren, has just joined. All the superheroes demonstrate their various powers and inquire what Darren's powers are. Darren then proceeds to turn his ratty sneaker into an ice cold Heineken, much to the heroes surprise and happiness. Danny is a huge comic book fan and this three day shoot was a joy for him.
All the actors had to have their superhero costumes custom made. Danny's and his crime fighting partner's powers are the same as Batman and Robin. Other hero's powers, in the shoot, were a hero who creates fire, a strong man, a hero who can teleport, a flying hero and a hero who can multiply herself.
The two black and white drawings were where the idea for Danny's superhero costume came.
